Whisper 3i filter for betta fish or no?

I just got Tetra Whisper 3i for my 1 gallon tank for my new betta fish and I was wondering would the water movement of the filter harm her? I had another betta with a Red Sea Nano filter and I adjusted to the lowest setting, but I think the water movement caused so much stress and killed her. So I want to make she would this filter be alright?
