Does Pentax have a lens system?

Apparently yes. The keyword is "selection". That list is apparently very short compared to the leading brands even if you add Tamron and Sigma. If you add the old AF film lenses made by and for Pentax then the list goes a little bit longer. Now, if you consider the older M42 or screwmount lenses which can be used with a cheap adapter, then no other lens system can get close to the wealth of selection the Pentax system has. As an overkill, brand new but fully manual Voigtlander and Zeiss lenses are still being made with the Pentax K-mount. No. Pentax doesn't have a lens system. It's too big to be called just that anymore. Now it becomes obviously clear why Pentax isn't a leader in technology. All it does is make the old things work for a very very long time.
